Tirupur's transformation
Tirupur’s dyeing industry has undergone one of India’s most significant industrial environmental transformations. Following a landmark 2011 Madras High Court order, the city invested in Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems, Effluent Treatment Plants (ETPs), and Zero Discharge Plants (ZDPs). Today, these facilities process over 130 million litres of recycled water every day. TVC-assisted infrastructure now provides approximately 53,000 cubic metres of effluent treatment capacity daily across the cluster. Tirupur is now recognised as a global model for sustainable textile manufacturing.

Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD)
All process water is treated and recycled within closed-loop systems; none is discharged into rivers or groundwater. Our dyeing partners operate in compliance with ZLD requirements.

Sustainable Water Recycling
Advanced treatment processes remove dye impurities, enabling treated water to re-enter production cycles and contributing to the recycling of more than 130 million litres of water daily in Tirupur.

Select units have transitioned to Zero Discharge Plants (ZDPs), purpose-built facilities designed to ensure that no effluent enters the environment under any operating conditions.
